#asktheexpert Hi my kid does not have proper food but when i say this to the doctors to give tonic they say he has correct weight so we dont need to prescribe tonics. i am still worried about his eating habits.

A. If doctors are saying your child does not need any health supplements for weight gain, believe them. Instead of any such things, it is recommended to introduce fatty and protein rich foods in the diet like potato, rice, pumpkin, sweet potato, eggs, chicken, fish, legumes, milkshakes with dry fruits, ghee, banana, avocado and 550-650 ml milk daily. Feed 3 Mai meals and 2-3 times healthy snacks alongwith variety of fluids like water, buttermilk, fresh juices, smoothies, coconut water, curd, etc.
