#asktheexpert hi my baby will turn 1 year in a weeks time. two days back and today I noticed while he was sitting and playing, he suddenly stretched his left hand and stiffened it , opened his mouth and his eyes were looking at his hand for one to two second . then he got back to playing. both the times I have noticed it in left hand. is something wrong? he is achieved all milestones and is on track. please reply.

next time he does such thing try to make a video of possible.it could possibly be a subtle type of seizure called as absence seizure which needs to be confirmed

Neelam ChinnappaMom of 2 children4 years agoA. hey mommy don't worry it should just be some little discomfort.. keep observing him and if there is any pain etc. also if you notice anything unusal make sure you bring it up with your pediatrician who can check if there is any issue
