hi...my baby s 6.5 months old... till nw i used to make her sleep in indian swing cradle (jhula)
during our last trip to native(5hrs) in train nd return in car...v faced a great prbm of making her sleep... she dint sleep at all..even if i feed her she dint sleep... nd nw for past one week im trying make her sleep without jhula..in hand , in bed by patting bt nthng works out...nly if i place in swing nd rock her for atleast 20mins...nly then she sleeps...plz help me

ExpertAlapati HariPaediatrician7 years agoA. Hi, try to avoid julla it’s not good to use it, we commonly see older children strangulate themselves in it. Another reason is what you have experienced. It’s normal for babies to cry upto 200 minutes a day and they sometimes struggle to get to sleep, allow them to naturally find a way for themselves to sleep.

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children7 years agoA. You can try to slowly wean the cradle usage. Don't stop it altogether. Stop it for one nap when u think she will be too tired and sleep on her own without needing to rock in the cradle. Then follow the same way of putting her to sleep for few days. Then start quiting cradle for another nap and so on slowly. Playing a mild soothing lullaby can help the baby to sleep.
