#AskTheExpert Hi...my baby is premature..born 8 weeks before....her weight was 1 kg during birth...now she is 3.5 months and just 3.23 kg...when will she gain weight

A. the minimum weight gain should be more than 17 grams per day so just wait and watch and continue your efforts and take regular follow up every one month with your pediatrician

A. Ma’am See there are two things when we say that initial six months it is recommended to exclusively breastfeed the child so you should but of course best for the child but you have to see if your child is gaining about 400 g to 800 g every month and if your child is not gaining that much weight also then you should try to consult a doctor and start with formula feeding as well
