#AskTheExpert Hi my baby is 6 months 3 weeks old and was having running nose went to pediatrician he suggested only saline drops. Now she has stuffed nose and makes snoring sounds while sleeping. What do you recommend

Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescytribed. if any fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
