#AskTheExpert Hi, my baby is 5 month old...and is fussy since 5 days, how do I know if he is suffering from teething pain?

Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 6 m old boy3 years agoA. during teething (pain can start as early as 3 months) there is itching, pain, drooling of saliva, swelling in the gums, oral finger insertion, irritability and crying during the teething process. it will come intermittently for few days to few weeks and then will go away. usually teething pain doesn't come after 2 years of age. with the help of your fingers you can press the gums of the child to decrease the pain as well as you can give a pacifier but it should be clean. you can give a cold cotton cloth to bite and press between the gums when the child is crying due to paind not resolving then you can give paracetamol which will also help in decreasing the pain. long-term medicine on daily basis (homeopathic /allopathic )(thdey are painkiller)are usually not advisable.

Manali K MehtaMom of 2 children3 years agoA. hi parent. give her Babyhug silicone teether keep her well hydrated by giving her breast milk as well as some water (30 to 40 ml a day use simply purified water having tds higher than 350 take sunbathing daily with her head and ears covered in the morning
