#AskTheExpert Hi, my baby girl is 6 mouth old and she is having cold I'm using a medicine but the child did not go away

A. Cough is a protective reflex of the body to expel out the mucus or any irritant factor from the respiratory tract which is most of the time assosiated with cold due to any viral or bacterial infectioyn . A proper examination is required to find the cause . As a home remedy you can start with steam inhalation . Cough can be treated with cough suppressant or antitussives as per the cause. For cold angtihistamines are useful and nasal saline drops are also benifecial .

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much and please give your baby doctor prescribed medication only as baby is very small and also give your baby indirect steam twice a day and also apply Luke warm Mustard oil on baby chest. Take care

My daughter is suffering from cold and cough since almost a month , we have given allopathic medicine and homeopathic as well but till the time she has her medicine ,cold and cough suppress .but it after day or two it again come back with a runny nose . Coughing is not that much but little bit of dry cough .And the main concern is she did not take her medicine easily whenever she takes , she puked the medicine . We are very concerned how to make her eat the medicine and how this cold problem go away .
