#asktheexpert Hi mam I am Saranya and I have a 8 month baby girl .she sometimes behaves so violently and aggressively it is common at this age .can you please share your opinion on this

A. Hi Sharanya, it is normal for an 8-month-old baby to show some aggressive behavior, like hitting, biting, or throwing things. At this age, babies are exploring emotions, testing reactions, and expressing frustration due to limited communication skills. To manage this, stay calm and gently redirect her attention. Use positive reinforcement when she behaves well. Avoid scolding or reacting strongly, as she is still learning. Give her plenty of playtime, cuddles, and a consistent routine to help her feel secure. If aggression increases or continues beyond 18 months, consult a pediatrician for guidance.
