#AskTheExpert hi, I just went for doctor consultation at 38 weeks and doctor said cervix is softened though its not yet dilated. and doctor insisted for induction at 39 weeks since I have gestational diabetes . I'm looking forward for natural delivery. please advise if there will be any problems when going for IOL since the cervix is not yet dilated. Thanks Doctor

ExpertDr Priyanka KalraObstetrician and Gynaecologist4 years agoA. well irs ok. you can get pain too. later. you must try to eat healthy, lots of fruit and stay hydrated. take enough sleep and no stressCut on salt in diet. take lots of fluids and a high protein diet. avoid standing or sitting with legs hanging down.
