#AskTheExpert Hi doctor so my son has got fever and cold 15 days back gave him the medicine fever was also fine after 8-10 days but since last 3-4 days he has started coughing..consulted the doctor on phone so she asked us to give cough syrup but i dont see much of a change ..what cud be done next should we give medicines or anything else

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of 2 children3 years agoA. it is cold .Cough and cold can be due to seasonal variation and maybe a sign of any viral infection so as a home remedies steam can be started and if the cough worsen then cough syrup like asthakind can be given but if there is any breathing difficulty then a physician should be consulted .
