#asktheexpert Hi Doctor My son is 7 weeks old,recently he took his 6th week vaccines,before that at time of birth on April 25 th doctor gave BCG vaccine Now his hand got some puss on the hand for that BCG vaccine after one month I am attaching picture of his hand Is it common ?

A. bcg vaccination which is given at birth in the upper arm will form a swelling by one or maximum two months and then it will burst open and then pus will come out from it and after that it will become a scar mark. you have to take medical consxultation if it days causing pain fever and discomfort to the child. also if the pus discharge is increasing or aggravating again you have to meet the doctor and locally you can apply t bact cream.

Yes this usually happens after a BCG vaccination it can happen any time within a month or two after you get the BCG vaccination done kindly consult your doctor they will help you with right medication and treatment for this because this is an infection that has developed you just need to clean and clear it which time
