#AskTheExpert Hi Doctor, my niece is 5.5 months old. She was born as a premature baby and been diagnosed with inguinal hernia. Doctor has suggested us for a surgery but we are very confused as to whether is it safe to go for a surgery of a 5 month old.

A. We have consulted 2 pediatricians, one is asking to go for a surgery now but the other one is asking to wait until she is 1 year old.
