Q.

#asktheexpert hi doctor. my daughter is 2 year 2 months old. her stools get hard sometimes. doctor has advised her not to take milk at all. and only eat dairy products except milk. is milk not advisable to kids these days? also, can you please suggest how many fruits and vegetables (cooked) she should eat a day to relieve constipation..

A. The problem of constipation will decrease with proper diet modification that is plenty of water and fibre diet and try to give more papaya oats and fennel seeds water to the child. You may have to give a course of constipation medicine to the child to stabilize the child from the pain. Constipation usuallyf decreases with increasing age of the child and medicines give only symptomatic relief.

A. hi well, it's not necessary to stop giving milk just restrict it's intake give fruits and vegetables more like you should offer 3 Major meals which includes them give spinach soup, tomatoes soup, fruits like pear papaya plum banana etc more which help to give relief in constipation
