Q.

#AskTheExpert hi doctor, my daughter is 1year 5 months old. on Saturday I have given her pcv and flue vaccine which is specified by Government of Maharashtra in private hospital. both on same day. but on Sunday she has got fever. Her fever gets worse at night. so is it vaccination side effect or environmental health issue.

A. Fever is when the temperature of the body goes above 99 degree fahrenheit and the safest medicine in such situation is paracetamol which can be repeated after 6 hours again if required in a proper dose . Alternative medicine can also be tried if required like ibuprofen and mefenamic acid preparations. cold sponging of the whole body with tap watcfer can be beneficial too to bring the temperature down .

A. hi it might be vaccine reaction. you can give calpol drops . if there is any other symptoms like low appetite,cold,cough ,etc then it is caused by viral or bacterial Infection.
