#AskTheExpert hi doctor my baby is 14 months old she has runny nose from one week I gave her wikoryl it's better than before but still she has runny nose. I want to know if medicine needs to be changed or to continue the same one.

A. Cold most of the time is a viral illness where there could be running nose sneezing along with cough and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration . steam inhalation will also be useful in this . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be used once a proper evaluation by the doctor is done and according to the type of cough its prescribed. if any fever is there paracetamjiol can be given to reduce the temperature and the dose can be repeated again after 6 hours if required .
