Q.

#asktheexpert Hi doctor.. my baby had her hepatitis A vaccine two days back.. she had fever for a day and now it has settled.But the vaccination site is still swollen and hard. Is this normal?

A. after painful vaccines administration they can cause swelling in the limbs which can continue for more than two months also. it does not require any treatmentx and should go away on its own. after vaccination immediately you should start applying ice as well as thrombophob gel to prevent such swellings from persisting

A. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Please apply gel ice pack wrapped in a cotton cloth on the affected areas. If still the swelling does not go away in 2 to 3 days, then it is advisable to get the baby evaluated by a doctor and follow Dr. advice properly. Thanks and take care
