#AskTheExpert hi Doctor. My 5 year old son is severely constipated and we have noticed whenever we do not give him milk, he passes stools. What can be the reason

A. milk allergy possible constipation is caused in children either due to decreased water intake or it might be due to decreased fibre intake. sometimes it may be associated with increased water requirement by the body according to the growth of the child. sometimes it may be related to some disease process that is also known as organic constipation. please meet your doctor because according to the cause treatment is given for constipation

A. So basically milk is only causing constipation to the child a lot of kids can I have constipation because of milk only so I would suggest you currently that stop giving milk to the child that’s going to be a much better choice to go ahead with and give more of dairy products
