#AskTheExpert hi doctor. I am already giving apple and banana to my 7 months old child. But he passes stool after 4-5 days and then cries a lot due to constipation. I have not started vegetables yet.

Hi, since baby is seven months old you can give four semisolid feed in a day with a gap of four hours between each solid food and minimum of two hours of gap To give any liquid feed like breastfeed, Dal water. You can start giving vegetable and fruit purees. But avoid citric fruits. Apple need to be steamed and made purée and fed. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, dry fruits, cow milk until baby completes one year. After feeding anything give lukewarm water which helps in good digestion also always feed in sitting position.
