#AskTheExpert hi doc ..my son who is 1 month old facing problem in passing stool or gas ..it seems he is in exrreme pain

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children4 years agoA. for gastric colic you can give collicaid/gastica drops to your baby.proper burping for about 20mins on the shoulder and tummy time after every feed is helpful.cyclic motion of legs also relieves . gas related problem is very common in small babies because of many factor including immaturity of the digestive system. usually in babies of 1 to 3 months of age it is a very common finding to spit the milk aftkioer feed due to acid reflux which can be reduced by giving a proper burping after every feed. please see that you are not over feeding the child also .if it is very frequent you can give domstal drops also occasionally but only under medical guidance.

meeta agarwalMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Good morning, It's normal for infants to strain when they're having a bowel movement (pooping). Pooping is more of a challenge for them because they are lying flat, so don't have gravity to help move things along. At first, breastfed babies tend go more often than formula-fed babies because breast milk is more easily digested. Try Gently move your baby's legs in a cycling motion — this may help stimulate their bowels. Gently massage your baby's tummy. A warm bath can help the muscles relax (your baby may do the poo in the bath, so be prepared).
