Dr Vandan H KumarFather of a 7 yr 4 m old boy1 Year agoA. it is common for infants to seek comfort by sucking on their mother's nipple at night. however, it is crucial to foster healthy sleep habits for both the baby and the parents. here are some tips to address this issue:
1. establish a bedtime routine: create a consistent routine to signal bedtime for the baby, such as a warm bath or reading a book.
2. encourage independent sleep: help the baby learn to self-soothe by placing them in their crib while drowsy but still awake.
3. use a pacifier: offer a pacifier as an alternative to nursing for comfort.
4. create a comfortable sleep environment: ensure the baby's sleep space promotes restful sleep.
5. set limits: gradually reduce feeding sessions throughout the night to encourage longer stretches of sleep.
6. consult a healthcare provider: seek guidance from a pediatrician or lactation consultaxnt if needed.
each baby is unique, so remain patient and consistent while establishing healthy sleep patterns.
AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 8 m old boy1 Year agoA. Hello there ma’am please do not worry about it too much. Sleep Cycle in smaller babies is very different and they have a certain pattern initially which becomes regularize at around 6 to 8 months of age and if the baby is comfortable with no irritability because of infantile colic nasal blockage any regurgitation etc you should not worry justiu give a comfortable position to the baby and no medicine is required. Thanks and take care.
