#AskTheExpert hi doc ..doc my baby is 15 month old .. and he has cough n cold from last 4 days .. and cos of dat he is not able to sleep .. plz suggest me how to remove his cough . will sleeping only is cough very much ... and he is not eating dat much also cos of cough plz help me asap ... thank u

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough and cold can be infective or allergic in cause.you can give steam to relieve nasal congestion which is of great help and nasoclear drops can also be used in nose multiple times.you can also give sinarest drops .
cough syrup or nebulization should be given according to the type of cough and only under the guidance of your pediatrician .self medication is not recommended.
if the cough is productive give Respicure-ls. Usually due to the symptoms if the child is not showing interest in having food, give only simple home-made preparations as required, can give certain fruits like apple, papaya etc. ,child will start to eat as symptoms get resolved.
Due to seasonal changes or due to repeated exposure to the infective agent if the child is catching cold and cough repeatedly you need to develop good immunity by giving proper balanced diet and multi -vitamin supple.ments under medical guidance.

Dr GhouseGuardian of 3 children3 years agoA. ascoril LS syrup eddecold and cough in the baby is due to viral infection sometimes can be allergies please give steam inhalation to liquefy the secretions saline drops in the nose for congestion nose
