Q.

#AskTheExpert hey my son is 7 weeks old abd he is not pooping.. he poops once in 6 days andd cries alot.. after pooping he feels relaxed.. what can i do to make him poop.. he is a very gassy baby so pooping daily is bery important for him.. so plz tell me what can i do to make him poop daily

A. yes it's fine. it s absolutely normal for the baby to not pass stools daily as digestion process can be different for all . If baby does not pass stool even upto 1 week it s not to worry. If more than 1 week and baby has discomfort can use glycerine suppository for relief. No syrup is given for this below 2 years for this issue .

A. If your baby seems constipated, consider simple dietary changes: Water or fruit juice. Offer your baby a small amount of water or a daily serving of 100 percent apple, prune or pear juice in addition to usual feedings. These juices contain sorbitol, a sweetener that acts like a laxative.
