#AskTheExpert hello sir . My 5yr old daughter has been suffering from cough and cold for the last 7 days The doctor prescribed some medicine. montek lc livolin plus avamys nasal spray after giving these medicines her coughing is increasing. please suggest if this medicine is ok or giving her nebulizer. Thank you in advance

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children2 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic andf expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor acrcording to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .
