1. Homemade Purees: You can prepare purees from fruits (like apple, pear, banana) and vegetables (like sweet potato, carrot, peas) to offer a fresh and nutritious option.
2. Soft Finger Foods: Introduce soft, easy-to-eat finger foods like mashed avocado, small pieces of steamed vegetables, or soft fruits.
3. Mashed or Minced Foods: Soft-cooked and mashed or minced foods like rice, lentils, and well-cooked chicken can be good options.
4. Oatmeal: You can prepare oatmeal with breast milk, formula, or water and add fruits for flavor and extra nutrients.
5. Yogurt: Plain, unsweetened yogurt is a good source of calcium and can be mixed with fruits or a small amount of honey for flavor (avoid honey for babies under 1 year due to botulism risk).
6. Finger Foods: Small, soft pieces of cheese, scrambled eggs, and soft-cooked pasta can be offered.
7. Avoid Sweetened Foods: It’s better to avoid highly processed or sugary foods.
Gradually introducing these alternatives and observing what your baby enjoys can help in finding the right foods. If you’re concerned about your baby’s eating habits or nutritional intake, consulting with a pediatrician can provide personalized guidance.
