#asktheexpert Hello, From day before yesterday my 7 months old baby is having fever of 100.4 - 101. I am giving crocin syrup 5 ML when ever he is having fever but it works for 5-6 hours then again fever comes back .. he is little runny nose and coughing also. what should I do ?

Author of questionGuardian of a 5 yr 3 m old boy4 years agoA. @vaibhav jain .. yes his soles and head is very warm but after I gave him crocin his temp drops but after 5-6 hours it's again rising. should I change the med or do something as in this covid situation m very worried. he has little watery nose and cough. do I need to give any med.

Dr. Vaibhav jainFather of a 5 yr 11 m old girl4 years agoA. yes this is viral. baby on touch can have warm soles and head. It s a normal and healthy thing. Check temperature at armpit level and if above 99 fahrenheit then we treat fever in babies. Can give drops paracetamol like calpol / T 98 / Sumol as per ba y weight . Can be repeated every 6 hours . fever is an immune response and is a sign so if fever is recurrent and persists then we need some tests and need a pediatrician visit
