#asktheexpert hello Dr..my son is 4 months old. he is rolling all over the bed.. and he is sleeping on his stomach in the night.. when trying to put him on his back again. he starts crying.. Is it ok to sleep on his stomach.. thank you

As you mentioned very clearly that your child knows how to roll over so it’s not a problem if the child is sleeping on tummy because we don’t advise you to make your child sleep on tummy if the child does not know how to sleep the side because sometimes they cannot change their head position and that can lead to choking and breathing which is why it it’s not advisable but if your child is comfortably sleeping and changing the positions as per the lead then it is not a problem
