Q.

#AskTheExpert hello dr, my baby is 6.5 months old , he is on formula feed but his appetite is poor, and not feed properly,not even take solid diet, his weight gain is poor, his birth weight was2.1 kg,he is now 6.9 kg approx, what can I do for proper growth of my baby?

A. Weaning food can be started from 5-6 months of age and in that initially in the initial stage you can introduce some semi solid food to the baby like Banana mango plum boiled Apple and then gradually you can start with some purie of carrot potato and some other foods which can be given are porridge of suji sabudana which can be prepared in breast milk or formula milk. initially you can start wyuith one or thwo tsp which can be gradually increased up till at least three meals in a day

A. Hello dear parent! Continue feeding your baby well on demand. It is said to be ideal if your baby doubles its birth weight by 6 months completion and triples by one year. Regularly massage your baby with Babyhug cold pressed coconut oil. Speak to your doctor for further advice.
