AnujaMom of a 4 yr 2 m old boy1 Year agoA. Check the dosage again with doctor. For my 2.5 yr old toddler since he turned 2 yrs old, paed doc has prescribed 4ml of 250mg/ 5ml of Calpol syrup. My toddler was suffering from frequent cold and cough too for about 3-4 months non stop. Paed doc finally put him on inhalers and said you would have to continue this for few months. I started giving him lukewarm water to drink always, fresh ginger juice mixed with honey at night just before sleeping, very low dosage of Sitophaladi churn mixed with honey( it always works for me) and switched his meds to a homeopathic doc which has been 80 percent successful. Also when he was suffering from cold n cough at its peak, I even added kadha(sauth powder, haldi, black pepper, laung, tulsi leaves, saunf) day n night to the mix. He also kept getting exposed to new virus/bacteria as he goes to play grp for 3 hrs. But I have to say these home remedies worked and he is much better. Whenever he is at home during holidays, he definitely does better as less exposure from other kids. He does get cold and cough but the home remedies help him get better faster as opposed to earlier. I do give him allopathic meds like Calpol( for fever) and Maxtra( for cough n cold) but only one or two doses as opposed to earlier when I continued giving him this for 3-5 days straight.
