#AskTheExpert hello doctor...pls pls can you tell me my daughter blood test report ok or not total WBC- 9520 RBC- 5.5 HEMOGLOBIN- 10.8 LYMPHOCYTES- 65% NEUTROPHILLS- 24% PLATELETS- 505000 she has no fever cold or cough...she has only gerd and gastritis problem past 3 months...otherwise she is active...she is 2 years old...what is the reason of increased platelet count?

A.  Infection is the most common, including viral and bacterial pathogens, and both acute and chronic infections. Especially in children under one year of age, any infection seems capable of triggering a high platelet count.Better to consult your paediatrician once for proper assessment and evaluation.
