#AskTheExpert Hello doctor, my son Yatharth is almost 16 months old and does not stand independently yet. he is otherwise very active, climbs onto things, cruises nicely and is inquisitive. should we worry? what steps can we take to help him stand independently

A. you have to consult a pediatrician who will tell you whether any intervention by your neurologist is required or not so your first step would be meeting a paediatric doctor

A. standing without support as well as walking will come properly by 18 months of age but it is important to meet the doctor to evaluate the growth milestones of the child
