Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello doctor, my daughter is 10 months old and she has constipation problem.Her stool is very hard and she cries for passing the stool.. which medicine is best and what we can do..

A. Constipation is a problem where there is difficulty in passing the stools and it could be very hard leading to sometimes injury and it becomes a chronic condition in most of the cases if not treated properly . most important thing is a proper diet with good fibre and plenty of liquids . Also avoidance of food which can aggravate the condition like Banana excevbss of milk and food with maida and junk .v medications should be given like lactulose or polyethylene glycol but only in guidance with the doctor. In emergency situation glycerine suppository or enema is useful.

A. it is a very common problem for which diet modification is necessary give high fibres and plenty of liquids to the child any kind of medication ics is a secondary option to be given only under medical
