#asktheexpert Hello Doctor, my daughter has cradle cap on her scalp and I see some black patches. I'm a first time mom living in Canada. Can you please advise?

A. Thank you so much for the response. This is how her scalp looks like. Is it cradle cap or dermatitis.Can you please advise? Also, you mentioned about oiling in the night. Should we keep the oil overnight or leave it for sometime and wash it. I live in a cold country so was wondering if I can leave the oil on her scalp overnight. I'm using sweet almond oil. Thanks again. Appreciate the response

A. your child is having cradle cap or seborrheic dermatitis (baby dandruff) you have to daily apply babxy shampoo (spoo is good brand) on the scalp of the child during the bathing. do not apply any type of oil on the scalp during the daytime but only apply oil at the night time. within one week the cradle cap will disappear. cradle cap is baby dandruff and is a type of fungal infection .
