#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, My daughter Adira is 4 years old. She is little constipated. with her stool little bit of blood was there. what is the cause. is that a thing to worry about. what food should we give and what to avoid. Thanks, Mousumi

A. it is very important to decrease low fibre diet like milk and milk products and increase the dietary intake of the child Your child is having constipation for which kindly give plenty of water to drink and fibre diet made from cereals pulses vegetables and fruits. Specially give papaya banana oats fennel seeds water it will help in decreasing constipation and even after that the problem continues kindly meet your doctor for constipation medicine. it is important for you to know that the problem of constipation will improve with increasing age of the child. You may increase or decrease the dosage of constipation medicine if needed according to the consistency of the stool

A. Hi parent I suggest you please give easily digestible Food like curd rice khichdi vegetable soup upma daliya mashes etc please keep your child well hydrated with more liquid diet please avoid all packaged food and product with refinde flour
