Q.

#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor! My baby boy is 10 months old now, and i am concerned about his one habit...He does pelvic rocking movement whenever my mom use to make him sleep on her belly....He usually starts these movements at slower pace but does more vigorously with time...He only does these movements at night or whenever my mother tries to make him sleep on her belly. These movements are getting stronger day by day.... earlier we use to think that this is normal....but these movements are very different. he does this to make himself sleep which is otherwise a very difficult for him. My Child is otherwise a normal, attaining his milestones on time. please suggest what are these movements?

A. such type of behaviour always decreases with increasing age of the child and it is very common behaviour at this age. with proper diversion and getting the child engaged in another things will help in decreasing such behaviour. meet your doctor for more advice and also share the video of such behhaviour with the doctor. also see that the child is not having iron deficiency because that can aggravate this behaviour

A. This is normal and baby does it for self soothing, Crawling, scooting & slithering ... ll this activity strengthens muscles for crawling, a skill usually mastered between seven and ten months.
