Q.

#asktheexpert hello Doctor. my babies (twins) are teething. their weight is constant since last one month or so. they are 8 months old. what should we include in their diet to make them gain more weight and also to help with teething issues? also, can we feed honey to babies? thanks in anticipation.

A. Hello there maam please do not worry about it too much. Baby weight depends on birth weight and normally doubles by the age of six months and triples by the age of one year. If baby is active and taking feed properly then no need to panic. Mother should take healthy food items including fresh fruits and dry fruits. Please give semi solid food items like banana and mashed potatoes and mashed apples to the baby. You can give homemade cerelac and vegetables puree to the baby. Also give suji kheer and daal paani to the baby. Start giving formula milk to the baby. You can also give mashed idli to the baby. Thanks
