to improve speech
-read different books to the child
-talk to the child daily routine like the child understands you with regular eye contact
-singing songs and rhymes
-while talking repeat what your child says with right pronunciation and do not criticize the child
-avoid screen time(tv mobilee laptop). leave permit the child to watch the activities that allow to improve his language
-take your child outside (open environment) and have a talk with the child regarding the things around the child
-introduce new words gradually for proper understanding
-speak about things child is interested in.

Your child is speaking well now 7 to 10 words and understanding well and responding well to everything then it is just a matter of time to the child wants to speak better I would recommend you to your child to play group that is going to be better because with peers kid kids learn to speak better
