#AskTheExpert Hello Doctor, is vomiting a common problem or is it something that should be given special attention. My son is 2 years old and he frequently (once in a week) vomits.

A. that is very normal that small children after taking breastfeeding will regurgitate small amount of milk. if the amount of milk is less than 10 ml no need to worry. this curd like milk is normal and no treatment is required. but if the quantity of milk is more than you have to rule out any gastric problem the child might be having. you can decrease the the regurgitation by giving more burping time to the child. also due to common pathway at the back between nasal cavity and the oral cavity the milk can come out through the nasal cavity also during the regurgitation and vomiting which is normal meet your dr if vomiting is in large quantity and happening again and again

A. Ok Sir.. Will follow the medicines. Also, from day 1 of his birth he is spitting milk.. he stopped spitting milk only after 11 months. Post that, he started to vomit food once in a week. But doesn't get tired. He then starts to play freely. Also, his weight gain is always within the normal limits. But appearance is not chubby..

A. after vomiting wait for one hour then give vomiting medicine (syp ondem/emeset) and then again wait for one hour and then give only easily digestible food. do not give anythicng to eat in this 2hr waiting period. if vomiting occurs again then meet your doctor. avoid giving milk and heavy diet. vomit usually occurs due to gastritis
