A. If your 3-year 2-month-old daughter was speaking normally and suddenly started showing shuddering or stammering, it could be a temporary phase known as developmental disfluency, which is common in toddlers as their speech and language skills grow. It may happen more when the child is excited, tired, or trying to say too much at once. Speak to her slowly, calmly, and with patience, and avoid interrupting or correcting her. Create a relaxed speaking environment. However, if the shuddering is frequent, increasing, or is affecting her ability to speak confidently, consult a speech therapist or pediatrician to rule out any underlying issues. Would you like tips to support speech development at home?
