Q.

#AskTheExpert Good morning Sir, My doughter age is 19 Months completed. She got high fever 8 days back..we consulted paediatrician after two days and prescribed paracetamol syrup and some other syrup for high fever asked to use if temperature doesn't come down with paracitamol. Paracetamol did not help hence used the syrup prescribed for high fever. Still fever was not completely gone after 4 days and again consulted the doctor. He did Dengue test and dengue antibodies test. Dengue test was negative and antibodies test was positive so Doctor said its dengue fever. Platelets were 1.4L on the same day and on the 6th day platelets increased to 2.4L. Now the problem is she is still getting fever if we don't use paracetamol syrup. If we use paracetamol fever is not coming till 7-8 hours. Could you suggest us if this is normal for dengue fever and how long can we expect fever or do I still need to consult doctor again. Thanks for your time on answering this sir.

A. ir skbth2 viral. Temperature more than 99 is considered as fever . Digital thermometer can be used at armpit for checking for same . If fever is there paracetamol can be used 8 hourly for fever . If it remains more than 2 days then consult a doctor .
