A. Hello, your baby girl is 49 months old and she is having a fever upto 101.7 degrees so if the fever doesn’t subside with routine antibiotic then get her blood examined for maleria and typhoid infection

A. Fever is a reaction of the body to different pyrogens released during any Infection. Usually temp more than 99 F is taken as fever . Mostly in children fever is because of viral infections like flu or RSV where the fever is there for 4-5 days but may persist even upto 2 weeks . Initially antipyretic like paracetamol is given in a dose of 15 mg / kg/ dose. Can be repeated after 4-6 hrs if needed .other medicine like mefenamic acid ibuprofen can also be given . Lukewfarm sponge bath cahn be given as home remedy to decrease fever. Adequate fluid intake is also beneficial. Urine output monitoring is necessary to avoid dehydration .

A. good evening these days viral is very wide spread so if the child is having fever it is probably because of viral I would recommend that you should immediately visit the doctor so that proper medicine can be given
