#AskTheExpert does using pacifier create nipple confusion? My 12 days old newborn demands suckling to sleep and she take 1-1.30 hours. My nipple hurts. Please suggest a solution.

ExpertDr.Deepinder Kaur DhawanObstetrician and Gynaecologist4 years agoA. avoid pacidiers. during initial weeks. child may suck more due to frequent urination. try feeding in lying position during night feeding sessions. mother should stay hydrated and eat healthy fibre rich diet

Nihita mittalMom of 4 children4 years agoA. it does not create nipple confusion however definitely it is not at all considered to be a good option because it is said that it kills the appetite of the child gradually the baby will stop having milk
