#asktheexpert Doctor could you please suggest a remedy for clearing up phlegm in the chest for kids? my pediatrician gave antibiotics for my 5 year old as she has throat infection and cough. infection has subsided. but then the cough still lingers around with phlegm in the chest which doesn't clear out despite completing the antibiotics course. kindly advise.

If the symptoms persist even after the prescribed medication, then it means further medical attention to understand what is the problem.
