A. At 1 year and 1 month old, you can give mishri (thread mishri) or khand in small amounts occasionally, but it's best to limit added sugars in your baby's diet. Mishri and khand are less processed than white sugar, but they still contribute to sweetness and can create a habit of preferring sugary foods. Instead of adding them to foods, focus on natural sweeteners like mashed bananas, dates, or jaggery (in moderation). Too much sugar, even natural ones, can impact digestion and increase the risk of tooth decay. If you want to use mishri or khand, make sure it's finely powdered and mixed well in food to avoid choking hazards.
