#AskTheExpert can i give jaggery in place of sugar to my 8 months old daughter ?

A. yes you can certainly give jaggery. jaggery is much better than sugar. just add a little bit...a very piece of it to the food.  not too much also. jaggery induces hunger in baby, it releases energy also slowly compared to sugar which releases instantaneously. it provides warmth in winters also. it also contains a bit of iron as it is cooked in an iron vessel. so all good things in jaggery.
