#AskTheExpert Baby's poop is black in colour ,what may be reason. baby is 1month old.

Janani ViswanathanMom of 2 children4 years agoA. Is it dark green or black. If they look more like black then u should consult your doctor to make sure there is no infection . Sometimes dark green stools can be due to any iron supplements that u r giving your baby. Green stools may also be due to the fact that baby is getting only low fat fore milk(milk that comes first) as they don't feed longer in one breast and switch breasts pretty soon. If u let the baby feed longer in one breast then he will get the high fat hind milk which comes later.
