Q.

#asktheexpert 6y old child is coughing with mucus. He was given Salbair 1 inhaler during covid to be used with spacer along with Relent + cough syrup. it had really helped. Can i use the inhaler now also? What would be dosage? He is 21kgs.

A. you can give nebulization with ns bottle that is normal saline water. this will help in decreasing both dry cough as well as will help in decreasing the mucus present in the throat of the child. but other nebulization medicines (asthalin, duolin, budecort etc) can be given to your child is decided by the doctor. so your doctor will decide after exdamination whether your child needs a nebulization with these medicines or not thus the maximum nebulization that you can give to the child without medical consultation is with normal saline it is totallyd safe and it is not addictive
