First Foods for a 6-Month-Old:
Single-Grain Cereals:
Rice or oatmeal cereal (mixed with breastmilk/formula).
Fruits (Pureed/Mashed):
Banana, apple, pear, papaya.
Vegetables (Steamed & Mashed):
Carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, bottle gourd (lauki).
Dal & Rice Water:
Moong dal water, soft mashed rice.
Curd/Yogurt (Plain & Unsweetened):
Start with a small amount if no dairy allergy concerns. Feeding Tips: Start 1-2 spoonfuls once a day and gradually increase. Introduce one food at a time and wait 3-5 days to check for allergies. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, cow’s milk, nuts, and spicy foods.
