A. At 6 months, you can start introducing solid foods while continuing breastfeeding or formula. Begin with easy-to-digest, iron-rich foods. First Foods for a 6-Month-Old: Single-Grain Cereals: Rice or oatmeal cereal (mixed with breastmilk/formula). Fruits (Pureed/Mashed): Banana, apple, pear, papaya. Vegetables (Steamed & Mashed): Carrot, pumpkin, sweet potato, bottle gourd (lauki). Dal & Rice Water: Moong dal water, soft mashed rice. Curd/Yogurt (Plain & Unsweetened): Start with a small amount if no dairy allergy concerns. Feeding Tips: Start 1-2 spoonfuls once a day and gradually increase. Introduce one food at a time and wait 3-5 days to check for allergies. Avoid salt, sugar, honey, cow’s milk, nuts, and spicy foods.
