#AskTheExper hi my lillte baby have cough for a week what shuold i do?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful . cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives mehdicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor according to the type of cough. if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and tjhe dose can be repeated after 6 hours again if required .

AbhayaMom of a 15 yr 10 m old boy3 years agoA. Hi mom Cold and cough can take around 3-10 days to get cured completely. so no need to worry. Continue with the medicine prescribed by the doctor. Also give indirect steam to ur baby two three times a day and apply warm mustard oil with pinch of rock salt on the chest and feet of the baby to get relief from cough
