#askthedoctor My son is 9 months old. It’s been almost a month he has cough and cold. I am giving him medicine prescribed by our doctor but when I stopped giving him medicines he immediately gets . Doctor told me it’s due change in atmosphere. I am worried , what should I do?

Dr Sameer awadhiyaGuardian of 2 children3 years agoA. Cough along with Cold most of the time is a viral illness and it needs supportive care along with proper hydration. you can give steam inhalation which is very useful .
cough needs to be treated with anti allergic and expectorant bronchodilators or antitussives medicine which should be given only after a proper evaluation by the doctor accordting to the type of cough.
if fever is there paracetamol can be given to reduce the fever and the dose can be refpeated after 6 hours again if required .

Yes It would be due to change of weather and surrounding also I’d like to tell you when these things are very much persistent every now and then that quite indicates that your child may be suffering with some kind of an allergy that could be weather dust or anything so get that
