A. Newborn baby girls have discharge because of their mother's hormone levels during pregnancy. During pregnancy, there are high levels of hormones circulating in the body that cross the placenta and reach the baby. In newborns girls, these high levels of hormones can cause vaginal discharge. You can simply clean the area with a wet wipe, being sure to wipe the discharge from front to back. You may need to wipe the area a few times to get it completely clean. Consult your pediatrician for better suggestion.

A. Hi! Sometimes vaginal discharge in female infant is normal due to effect of maternal hormones on baby. If otherwise child is fine and having no other complaints its absolutely fine. However if it occurs repeatedly than consult with your Pediatrician once. thanks.

A. actually this is quite normal and this happens because of withdrawal of maternal hormones in the baby so you need not to do anything and just maintain a good hygiene feed the baby well
